Ramadan Food Basket 2013

Assalamualaikum Wr. Wb.

'And be steadfast in your prayer and pay charity; whatever good you send forth for your future, you shall find it with Allah, for Allah is well aware of what you do.' Al-Qur’an (2:110)

Every Ramadan Masjid Abdul Gafoor (MAG) donates food baskets to needy families. Opps...correction...the Jemaah of Masjid Abdul Gafoor donate food baskets to needy families via the Ramadan Food Basket (RFB) programme.

That's right. The Jemaah of MAG through the Ladies Wing of MAG helped more than 200 families last year with food items for them to keep and break their fasts. Masha Allah.

Insha Allah this Ramadan MAG Ladies Wing has intended to help 200 needy families through RFB programme. Each food basket costs $80. The monies collected will be solely used for the food baskets. The masjid will absorb all administrative and logistics costs involved. Since this is a programme to help needy families, Zakat money can be used for this donation.

Those of you who wish to be part of this generosity programme may approach the masjid to give your cash donations or send your cheques to the masjid using the form found below.

May Allah (s.w.t) accept our financial sacrifices and our Ibadah in this Ramadan. May He (s.w.t) bless us with His Mercy and Guidance in this world and the Hereafter. Ameen.

Contents of food basket may include:

Rice, cooking oil, condensed/evaporated milk, noodles (mee hoon, Maggi), sugar, tea powder/bags, biscuits, Sardine tins, etc.

Each basket costs $80 only. You are also welcome to donate any amount you wish for this program. Please do not donate foodstuff as we would like to standardize our food baskets.

May Allah (s.w.t) bless you and your family and accept your charity and Ibadah during this Ramadan. Ameen.

Wassalam

Ramadan Food Basket 2010

Assalamualaikum Wr. Wb.

'And be steadfast in your prayer and pay charity; whatever good you send forth for your future, you shall find it with Allah, for Allah is well aware of what you do.' Al-Qur’an (2:110)

The month of Ramadan is a time of fasting, but more so, it is a time in which Muslims are encouraged to help those in need. In the past 6 years, Masjid Abdul Gafoor’s Ramadan Food Basket Program has been greatly supported by Muslims in Singapore who generously donate to distribute food baskets to poor families to help them break their daily fasts. The food basket provides enough for a family of four to last the entire month of Ramadan, Insha Allah.

Contents of food basket may include:
Rice, cooking oil, condensed/evaporated milk, noodles (mee hoon, Maggi), sugar, tea powder/bags, biscuits, Sardine tins, etc.

Each basket costs $70 only. You are also welcome to donate any amount you wish for this program. Please do not donate foodstuff as we would like to standardize our food baskets.

May Allah (s.w.t) bless you and your family and accept your charity and Ibadah during this Ramadan. Ameen.

Wassalam

Ramadan Spring Cleaning

Assalamualaikum Wr. Wb.

Volunteers and members of the Masjid Abdul Gafoor (MAG) Management Board busied themselves on 31st July 2010 with spring-cleaning of MAG. Most of the time we are busy cleaning our homes and forget that the masjid too needs our help in cleaning up in preparation for Ramadan.

Dear Muslims, this post is meant to be a timely reminder for all of us to help the masjids in our vicinity in preparing for Ramadan. It doesn't matter which masjid benefits from your efforts. In fact, you are the one benefitting by earning the pleasure of Allah (s.w.t) when you indulge in such good activities at the masjid.

RAMADAN MUBARAK TO ALL OF YOU!

GIRO DONATION

Assalamualaikum Wr. Wb.

Abdul Gafoor mosque is in need of your generosity and support in order to achieve its goals of serving the Muslim community. The mosque will try its best to offer services/programs free of charge with the help of donations from our respected brothers and sisters thus, benefitting the community at large.

Currently, the operating cost of the mosque is very demanding and challenging. This cost reflects a wise and budgeted spending. In a week, more than 2000 people frequent the mosque. The use of our facilities by such large number of people requires continuous maintenance and repair.

As such, we are strongly appealing to all Muslims to donate generously towards the maintenance of the House of Allah. Please kindly come forth to make your contributions to our efforts; even small amounts help. Please help us preserve the mosque’s more than 100‐year tradition of excellence. You will receive Allah’s blessings and the deep down satisfaction that you have really helped a worthy cause.

Please don’t overlook this request for donations as another letter. Your help is much needed and appreciated. Kindly complete the attached GIRO form for a monthly donation and help us better maintain and manage the mosque. Any contribution you could make to our mosque would be most welcome and most appreciated.

Thank you in advance for your encouragement and support. We look forward to hearing from you, Insha Allah. If you have any questions at all, please feel free to call Ust. Abdul Rahman at 2933875 or Ms. Nisa at 62954209 or send us an email to masjidabdulgafoor@gmail.com.

Yours respectfully,
